Company Description:

Sweetbriar Studio Art is a creative outlet that allows me to make whimsical fun ceramics that use a combination of both wheel thrown and hand building. I create a mix of functional vases, bowls, utensil holders and plates as well as fun holiday items like ornaments, ghosts, pumpkins, gnomes and snowmen.
I work with both a wheel and slabs of clay to create my work and then alter each piece to come up with the finished item. I hand paint most pieces in underglaze prior to firing and then usually a coordinating glaze in the final kiln fire. I like my work to be fun and playful so take a lot of license with my colors and designs, especially my animals. I prefer the whimsical to the realistic in both design and color since my main purpose is to bring laughter and joy. I hope that when you see my work, it makes you smile.
